Lumberjack Baseball Club has not only been a place for our kids to develop their baseball skills over the years, but they have also learned so much about being a good person both on and off the field. Braden and his coaching staff truly care and respect their players. They approach coaching in a positive manner and teach kids how to play and love the game. We are so happy we found Lumberjack Baseball Club and proud to be part of the Lumberjack family.

Couldn't ask for more in development of our son in his baseball path but more importantly his growth as a human. Great baseball and training crew and coaches with great hearts and care for their athletes.

After hunting around a bit for a program that fits us, our kids have thrived with this club. We love the focus — not only on winning, but on player and personal development. The owner and coaches stand out from the other examples that we see in private club baseball!

Cody Sievers
Pitching

Cody is the Lumberjacks curator of FUN. And having FUN is key. Cody grew up at a young age and realized the stress and difficulties life presents shouldn’t be put on youth. Cody is driven by the chance to make an impact on the way Baseball is approached and taught. In today’s winning oriented climate, coaches are often feel pressured into providing lots of verbal instruction to their athletes. As a result of social pressure to be seen as a hands on instructor, the temptation to provide advice whenever an athlete makes errors can prove to be too great. Cody doesn’t feel that way, he believes that people can achieve success if there is the right balance of demand and encouragement.

Cody has coached high school baseball for 6 years and youth baseball for over 10 years, often multiple teams at the same time. He has aided in several players growth into becoming college athletes. Cody has certifications from Driveline Baseball in Foundations of Pitching and Basics of Pitch Design. Cody’s training focuses on success over the long term meaning setting players up for success on a big field by focusing on moving fast, throwing hard, moving the bat fast and hitting the ball hard. Cody happily will do hitting or pitching instruction so please inquire.

Justin Sievers
Infield/Hitting

Baseball to Justin has always been about having fun and staying loose and relaxed on the field. It wasn’t always that way and he was his toughest critic. Growing up Justin learned quickly that mistakes and failures are part of the game and players need to learn from them and there will always be another play to make an adjustmen. It is a core part of his coaching philosophy and something he hopes to teach the athletes he trains.

In high school Justin was a 1st team all-league in the Pacific Conference and Honorable mention all-state as an outfielder. He then went on to play college baseball for Clackamas Community College for 2 years before deciding to pivot to coaching and sharing his knowledge with young players.

As Justin began coaching he quickly realized his natural style was a laid back approach that teaches athletes the fun and enjoyment of the game. He loves to get in on a game of catch with players or lead by example and demonstrate visually what he is trying to teach. Justin believes that effort is one of the factors we can always control and he expects his players to give it on every play. Working their hardest and giving their best is what ultimately makes the game fun and enjoyable as they see it pay off on the field.

Justin has coached competitive baseball for 7 years at the youth and high school level. He enjoys training infield, outfield, and hitting and looks forward to working with you and passing along his love of the game!
